Staff Growth Milestones
Interestingly, Mauritius serves all business units within Ceridian from one location. We have the opportunity to learn and use all products and see how each business operates and delivers services. Our advantageous time zone provides an extended working day which improves cycle time. Also, our geographical position enables a follow-the-sun capability which helps Ceridian deliver services globally.
Ceridian Mauritius is currently operating from the high tech Cyber Tower building, where it occupies the whole of the ninth floor. This is a long way from its humble beginnings in 2500 sq. feet of office space in Travel House, Port Louis. It then leased premises at the BAI Building, which was quickly outgrown by mid-2004. Ceridian Mauritius then had growth plans that could only be accommodated at Cyber Tower, which was really the catalyst for our expansion.
During the first three years of operation in Mauritius, we were only delivering to UK customers. Our North American colleagues then began to see the benefits that Mauritius could bring. We then embarked on geographical as well as functional expansion, which included moving into new areas like the support of our CRM tool, Siebel, and a host of other back office tasks.
With over 500 employees, Ceridian has earned its position as an Employer of Choice through:
A Culture of Innovation
Ceridian launched its first Innovation Challenge in September 2013. The objective of this competition was to cultivate a culture change to strengthen our innovation capability through leveraging the energy and creativity of our people.
The competition provided Ceridian employees with a platform to unleash their creativity, innovativeness and entrepreneurship. With over 70 participants, the competition was held over one weekend and participants came up with implementable innovative ideas or solutions to add value to Ceridian and its customers globally. Some projects are: Car-pooling system, Recruitment- Applicant Tracking System, Transport planning system to name a few. Ceridian employees also participated in other innovation competitions organised by different institution including the Web Cup Competition and Code Challenge.
